The difference between an Ordinary vs EXTRAordinary Life

Everyday you wake up and have a choice.

You can choose to live an Ordinary life or you can choose to live an Extraordinary life.

Doesn’t number 2 sounds amazing? I mean, who doesn’t love ‘extra’; extra toppings on your pizza, additional discount, an added bonus at work… It’s great!

So, why do so many of us choose to not add ‘extra’ to our life and reap the benefits of the extraordinary?

Well, you might be asking, “What’s the difference between an Ordinary and an Extraordinary life?”

Let me break it down…

Ordinary: It means doing all the things you ‘should’ do according to your family and culture—all that ‘programmed’ stuff. Get a good paying job, take your 3 weeks’ vacation, buy a house, save for retirement, get married, have kids, and die.

I’d just like to point out there’s nothing wrong with Ordinary. It works, and people have been doing it for decades.

But recently I read THIS, and boy did it add perspective to my life:

“… realize that most of what you believe about yourself and your limitations is based on an illusion—a well-intentioned illusion handed to you by people in bodies that no longer exist, in a time that has passed.” – Dr. Wayne Dyer, Wishes Fulfilled

According to the late Dr. Dyer, most of us have been living a life based on ‘rules’ and ‘guidelines’ from people who are no longer here; not to mention lived during a completely different era.

… I know, CRAZY!

So what’s this EXTRAordinary life I speak of?

Extraordinary: It includes a lot of the ordinary stuff such as paying the bills, cleaning the house, studying, and following the rules of a law-abiding citizen, BUT living an extraordinary life means you’re fueled from the soul! And I’m not talking Chicken Soup for the Soul.

Fueled from the soul means everyday you’re living from an inner charge which comes from something that’s calling you.

No, it’s not literally calling you on the phone; nor is it the ‘knowledge’ you learned in school.

Inner calling might be that itch from within that we so often brush off and bury. It might be that desire to paint and express yourself creatively or work on that robot for the next bots competition. It might be building a boat with your son or taking that hour to go for a run.

Whatever it is, living an extraordinary life means living from YOUR ideal place which has no limitations.

When you live from the ideal of your soul, you’ll realize there are no limitations; there’s nothing you ‘should’ be doing and there’s no obligation of possessions you must have. You simply live and do what you really want to do.

Sure, you might still have to do the laundry, but that’s just an action in your day. Same with going to work; you don’t have to quit your job in order to access this ideal of the soul, you simply need to tap into it.

How do you do that?

Change your self-concept.

The concept of yourself, change it.

Everything you believe to be true about yourself and your life has landed you exactly where you are.

Change the concepts and your life will change, and that includes where you end up!

Interesting, eh?

I too found this idea interesting once and decided to pursue it further with coaching. I’m proud to say following that interest led to me being able to now write to you from the ideal of MY soul.
